Walking... YES....

I have decided that I am going to make myself go on a walk. I know this isn't a big thing but for me right now it is. This pregnancy has been a little harder than the others. I am sure it is due to being older and over weight. And I sure don't want to see the scales going up. It is very depressing to me. I have plenty of meat on this body to feed the baby. So maybe if I walk and try to stay away from the candy bars maybe I will do a little better. I am not a over eater I just sometimes or maybe all the times seem to eat the wrong things. So I have a goal of making good decisions on my eating starting today. This baby needs fruits and vegetables to make it strong and healthy right. Now let me say I have only gained around 4 pounds so far but the scales are still depressing me a lot. Maybe I should take sky's way of dieting and portion my food out. I probably would do so much better. Sorry to bore you all with my thoughts this morning. I think this is on my mind and I need to write it down so maybe I will stick to my decision. By the way the walk this morning was so nice. I only did a mile but it was a refreshing way to start my morning.

Well I feel like walking is the best thing you can do while being pregnant. I made myself walk a lot, and I really don't know if it is the reason, but my labors went very well. I know how you feel about the scales being depressing. I think if you eat right, you'll still probably gain, but as soon as the baby is out and your body starts to go back to normal, you'll probably weigh less than when you got pregnant. Good luck with everything :)

I am glad you were able to go on a walk. Walking outside helps lift my spirits more than just about anything. It probably won't make you loose weight right now, but, if you have more energy and are encouraged that matters most. Keep it up.

you go girl !!i agree with julie and sylvia eating better and walking will make you feel so much better and even if you do gain some weight now maybe after you have the baby and you still eat right and walk the pounds may come off easier good luck!

I have to agree with the others. Walking is good pregnant or not. I started walking almost everyday with a sister that lives close to me a few weeks ago. That came to a stop since I started this job. But I plan to get back to it when I'm done. I miss the fresh air. Especially in the morning, it is a nice way to start the day.

Walking is soooo great when you are pregnant. That is pretty much the only exercise I get beside chasing Luke around. You sound like you are doing great. I wish I could say I only gained 4 pounds so far. I have gain 17 already...yikes. Oh, well...it is all worth it!!! Keep it up!

I know it's hard for me to get motivated to walk or do any exercise for that matter. Good for you for tackling it today and Good luck in the days to come.

I'll call you soon. Should be Wed. I don't have the home phone anymore, just my cell.

REMEMBER you should gain between 15-25 pounds during your pregnancy. Even if your overweight! The baby needs it =D. Worry about taking off the pounds after baby comes. I drank a nasty veggie drink almost every morning while i was pregnant. It has 12 servings of vegetables in it. It was awful, but i have to admit i felt so much better and had a lot more energy when i drank it. I hope you start feeling better and more energetic soon =D

I love walking. With or without company, although most of the time I am more likely to do it with somebody. Can't think of much else to say, except good luck with your weight, and exercise, and eating.

Answering your comment, I agree that it is cool that we are taking a class and Bro. Lee would like you to take the class, we were supposed to take the test today, but we got done with every thing so fast that we took the test yesterday and still left early from class, we were supposed to have a 3 hour class everyday but yesterday and Wednesday we had shorter classes, yesterday only lasting not even 1 hour, but we will all meet at some place to shoot a gun and see if we are safe enough (Our family will be sure to be safe enough, so we aren't worried though)

It is unusual for you to go this long between blogs. What's up??

I love the walking thing too. I have to admit though sometimes when I have been pregnant I felt lousy/depressed that I didn't care for a while. But even then it always made me happy when I did it anyway.

Also it was nice to see you at the homeschooling convention today!

I gained 20 pounds by 5 months...ugh. I slowed down in my last trimester thankfully. It sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the walking. I can't believe you are half way through your pregnancy. Hurray!!

I'm a little late commenting on this post; but I hope you've been able to keep up the walking and eating better. It's so hard to start new habits and break old ones. I also hope that things are going smoother with the move.

You have inspired me to start walking again. It was about 60 degrees at 7 am today so I walked 2 and a half miles. It helps to take Masons Ipod with me it is loaded with southern gospel. Lets keep this up Cherie.

Hey, you're halfway through your pregnancy! You can look at that as either half full OR half empty, eh? I think you should choose half full. Unless it is half of something gross like salelitos (sp?). Then look at it as half empty!

BTW, the word I don't know the spelling for, I was trying to talk about those salted plums or prunes, or whatever they are, that Dad loves, but the rest of the family thinks is disgusting! LOL.
